Azotea Plaza Alta
The project arose from the need to reclaim and add value to an underused, deteriorated rooftop, transforming it into a functional space that would benefit both residents and the building itself. The initial situation featured a roof terrace with little use, outdated elements and a rundown appearance that limited its potential and how it could be used. The main objective was to create a modern, accessible and sustainable communal terrace, capable of fostering a sense of community among residents while also improving the building’s energy efficiency. To achieve this, a comprehensive intervention was carried out, including cleaning and preparing the roof, reorganizing the space, adding seating and relaxation areas, and installing greenery and landscaping elements that bring comfort and environmental quality. At the same time, a solar power generation system was integrated, taking advantage of the roof’s high sun exposure to reduce the energy consumption of the common areas and promote the use of renewable energy. The final result shows a complete transformation of the space. Where there was once a deteriorated, unused surface, there is now an appealing, functional communal terrace geared toward residents’ wellbeing. Beyond significantly improving the building’s image, the intervention contributes to environmental sustainability, reduces dependence on conventional energy sources and increases the value of the residential complex, turning an underused area into a high-value shared asset for the community.
