Country House Renovation in San Roque
BEFORE THE INTERVENTION
This rural home had a layout typical of old country houses, where the spaces had gradually been adapted over time to different needs. The rooms showed a poorly defined organization, with multiple uses concentrated in the same spaces and limited circulation that made it difficult to make the most of the house’s full potential. The original layout created a sense of visual clutter and reduced the perceived spaciousness of the home. Although the house had elements of great value, such as its traditional construction, its connection with the natural surroundings and privileged views, the existing layout did not allow these qualities to be fully enjoyed. The lack of clear zoning meant some areas were underused, while others accumulated different functions without an efficient organization.
AFTER THE INTERVENTION
Our interior design proposal is based on absolute respect for the essence of this unique country house, an old home with a distinctive character that deserved to be preserved. The main objective was to reorganize the spaces to adapt them to today’s needs, bringing comfort, functionality and a more contemporary aesthetic without losing its rustic identity. The intervention focused on redefining the interior layout through better organization and hierarchy of the spaces. Clearly differentiated areas were created, allowing for more efficient and comfortable use of each room, improving circulation and creating a smoother flow throughout the home. The design incorporates natural materials, warm textures and a neutral color palette that engage with the surroundings and enhance natural light. The furniture and decorative elements bring a current, serene look while preserving the warm, authentic character of a house surrounded by nature. The result is a more balanced, bright and functional space, where every corner has a clear purpose. The home retains the charm of its traditional architecture, but now meets the demands of contemporary living, allowing its owners to fully enjoy its beauty, its views and all the spaces that make it up.
